As the founder of Evolve Psychotherapy, I believe that psychological therapy can help individuals, to not just overcome difficulties, but to evolve and grow as a person. During my life I have witnessed this first-hand, many times. I have worked in the NHS for a number of years and prior to that I was employed by Mind.

I am a BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist. This means I have undertaken specific post-graduation training and continue to adhere to strict standards of conduct, performance and ethics.

I am also a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher and practice meditation and mindfulness myself daily. Technology has made it easier for me to practice meditation. I use virtual reality to transport myself to a peaceful place in order to practice.


Virtual reality can also be helpful on days when I experience pain from a long-term condition. I use VR to distract me from the physical sensations. This led me to investigate how VR could be used in therapy and I discovered that there is already a lot of research to show that VR can be successfully used in the treatment of phobias. Therefore, I have linked up with a technology company in Silicon Valley to be one of the first psychotherapists in the UK to be offering Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT).

These are all evidence-based therapies that have been proven to help people to overcome emotional difficulties. I firmly believe that we all can grow and evolve emotionally, and that it’s at times when we feel like we are swimming against the tide, barely treading water or drowning, when we need to be empowered with the skills and tools to survive. I believe that the combination of CBT, Mindfulness and VRT can provide these tools for individuals. I utilise many of them myself daily and have taught them to many others.


When we feel stressed, low, anxious or burned-out we need help as soon as possible, as easily as possible. That’s why I endeavour to offer appointments with minimal waiting times, as easy as possible. Also we are all different, therefore we like to communicate in different ways, so I offer appointments in a variety of formats, including face-to-face, telephone, Skype and email, to accommodate these needs.
